Carne Asada Soft Tacos

1 lb beef steak (suitable for grilling)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeņo, minced
1 large handful of cilantro leaves, finely chopped
salt and pepper
Juice of 1 lime
12 corn or flour tortillas

Toppings: (as many or as few as you like)
1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
2 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup shredded cheese (Monterey Jack or your favourite)
1 cup fresh salsa

Place steak in a large bowl or sealable bag and add vegetable oil, garlic, jalapeņo, cilantro, salt, pepper and lime juice. Marinade the beef in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or as long as overnight.

Remove beef from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill or broil the steak until it's done to your taste.

Meanwhile, place tortillas on a dinner plate covered with foil and warm in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.

When beef is cooked, slice it thinly and place in bowl.

Place the toppings in separate bowls.

Place the tortillas in a napkin lined basket.

Assemble the tacos by placing beef on warm tortillas and add
desired toppings.
