4 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 fresh chile peppers, mild or hot, seeded and finely chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
juice of 1/2 a lime
salt and pepper, to taste
Combine all ingredients and let stand for 1/2 hour before serving.
Serve in an attractive serving dish with tortilla chips.
